MISSION
The Commercial Operations Manager will lead the Producers' Operations team of 4-6 people based in several locations in Switzerland (Geneva and Ticino). They will report directly to the Head of Commercial Operations.
This role requires a hands-on leader to ensure secure, compliant and efficient end-to-end precious metals operations, from mine onboarding through to final settlement, whilst providing the best client service to our mining & metal producers partners.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage, coach and develop the team to deliver high quality operational execution
- Oversee onboarding and client account maintenance (KYC, tenders, contracts)
- Supervise daily commercial operations (deliveries, pricing, invoicing, payments, reconciliation):
- Manage & monitor precious metals deliveries, including ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and documentation issued and received.
- Monitor & reconcile client trade accounts, market positions and balances
Ensure correct invoicing of goods and services - Resolve or escalate issues
- Manage & monitor precious metals deliveries, including ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and documentation issued and received.
- Ensure good cross-functional communication with relationship managers, production, logistics, treasury, trading, compliance and back office
• Formalize and coordinate the implementation and/or improvement of processes/procedures related to end-to-end operations, including client onboarding
• Identify operational needs in terms of IT tools, contribute to design/upgrade, support implementation and adoption.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters degree in Economics, finance or other relevant field.
- 3-4 years of work experience, preferably in commodities trading house or financial institution
- Experience in team and project management
