MISSION
The Business Intelligence Manager leads the design, development, and management of the company's Business Intelligence infrastructure and analytics solutions. They collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to drive BI initiatives that align with organizational goals. With a blend of leadership, data architecture expertise, and technical knowledge, they enable effective decision-making and provide actionable insights that support business growth.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategy: Define and execute BI roadmap, architecture, and data strategies. Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.
- BI Architecture & Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust BI architecture including data models, dashboards, and reporting tools. Ensure performance tuning and optimization of BI platforms and data queries.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, business units, and IT teams to understand reporting and analytics needs. Collaborate with data warehousing architecture, cloud/data lake integrations, and data governance.
- Project Delivery, Governance & Quality: Ensure the timely and good quality delivery of BI related projects. Establish the best practices for data quality, data integrity, and data governance. Implement access controls, data security policies, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Tool & Platform Management: Manage BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau,) and data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Hadoop, MySQL, Data lake). Evaluate new BI technologies and tools to improve capabilities and cost-efficiency.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the BI team, including data analysts, report developers, and data engineers.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in BI, data architecture, or analytics roles.
- 2+ years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL development.
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehouses.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Solid knowledge of data governance frameworks and hands-on experience with modern data cataloging platforms.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, manage projects, and work cross-functionally.
- Analytical thinker with a passion for data-driven decision-making.
- Leadership and mentoring skills to lead a team of data engineers and analysts.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities across business units and technical teams, senior executives and business leaders.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize BI systems and processes.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate reports and data insights.
