MISSION
The Quantitative Risk Management Intern will support the development and enhancement of our risk management framework, with a focus on quantitative modeling, data analysis, and CTRM implementation. The internship provides exposure to market risk management in the context of precious metals trading and related financial markets.
The intern will also contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of a CTRM (Commodity Trading and Risk Management) system, and to the development of risk dashboards in Power BI, applying coding and quantitative skills to improve transparency and efficiency in risk reporting.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Risk Support
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing market risk exposures related to precious metals and FX markets.
- Assist in analyzing P&L and investigating P&L breaks.
- Support in the development, testing, and improvement of risk models to assess market movements.
- Contribute to VaR, stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate potential market risks.
- Help prepare reports on risk exposures, trends, and mitigation measures for senior management.
CTRM and Analytics support
- Support in the design, testing, and implementation of the CTRM system.
- Contribute to the development and automation of risk dashboards in Power BI.
- Apply Python or R coding skills to enhance data analysis, model implementation, and risk reporting.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree (completed or ongoing) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Economics, or related discipline.
- Previous internship or work experience in risk management, trading, or data analysis is an advantage, but not required.
- Solid foundation in quantitative methods, statistics, and risk modeling.
- Knowledge of financial markets and instruments (derivatives, hedging strategies, FX, commodities)
- Coding skills in Python and SQL are required; any other coding language is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is highly valued.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in risk assessments.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity;
- Full professional proficiency in the Windows environment is expected;
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English is required; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
