MISSION
The Senior DevOps Engineer (Azure) is responsible for architecting, automating, and managing scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment processes within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. This role ensures seamless collaboration between software development and IT operations to deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing cloud solutions. He/She will drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, focusing on automation, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure optimization to support continuous delivery and business agility.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for automated build, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
- Administer and optimize Azure services such as App Services, AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), Azure Functions, and Virtual Machines.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Manage Azure Active Directory (AAD) integration and enforce security and compliance policies across cloud environments.
- Automate operational tasks and deployments using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and YAML pipelines.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize application deployment, scalability, and performance on Azure.
- Ensure cost optimization and resource governance through Azure Policy, tagging, and budgeting strategies.
- Lead troubleshooting and incident management for production systems and pipelines.
- Mentor junior engineers, enforce DevOps standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of hands-on DevOps experience, with at least 3 years focused on Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps Services (Repos, Pipelines, Boards, Artifacts).
- Expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking, load balancing, and security groups.
- Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized workloads.
- Skilled in automation and scripting using PowerShell, Bash, and Azure CLI.
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics for observability.
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles, including security, compliance, and identity management in Azure.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert) or AZ-104 (Administrator Associate) are strongly preferred.
