MISSION
The Automation Technician is responsible for supporting, owning, and continuously improving industrial automation systems across production plants. Initially allocated to the Ruthenium plant for a period of 6 months, the role will then transition to a 100% allocation focused on automation support, optimization and continuous improvement across multiple plants. The position plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient automation processes, supporting operational continuity and technological development.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own PLC, HMI, and automation architecture for the Ruthenium plant;
Implement control logic changes, upgrades, and optimizations;
Manage SIL requirements, interlocks, and safety automation;
Lead advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis;
Support commissioning, upgrades, and Management of Change;
Analyze automation and production data;
Train Chemical Automation Engineers and operators;
Coordinate with Maintenance on instrumentation and reliability.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Control Engineering;
Minimum 5 years of experience in the development, commissioning, and supervision of industrial automation systems;
Strong experience in PLC, HMI, and safety systems;
Background in chemical, metallurgical, or process plants.

Strong technical expertise in industrial automation systems, including PLC, HMI, and safety automation;
Ability to act as system owner and technical authority;
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills;
Hands-on approach combined with a structured and safety-oriented mindset;
Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
Capability to train and support engineers and operators;
High attention to detail and commitment to operational reliability and safety.
