MISSION
The Senior Operations Officer is responsible for the efficient execution of MKS PAMP's operational activities, supporting the Group's precious metals trading business. This role supports the European & APAC Trade Teams through active coordination with the Geneva Head Office and Ticino Refinery Operations Teams, ensuring operational processes are completed accurately and on time.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Execution:
Execute operational processes accurately and timely, ensuring continuity of critical post-trade activities.
Ensure all End-of-Day (EOD) operational processes and trade validations are completed and ready for review by the APAC & European Operations Teams.
Investigate and document operational discrepancies, escalating unresolved issues proactively to the APAC & European Operations Teams.
Work closely with traders, sales, logistics, systems teams, and clients to ensure effective coordination and communication among internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and monitor physical precious metal deliveries between Group refineries and third-party counterparties.
Manage and monitor physical metal inventories across various storage locations in collaboration with the Logistics Department.
Verify the completeness and accuracy of operational documentation, including invoices, air waybills, packing lists, assay certificates, and other shipping documents, ensuring timely system updates.
Coordinate operational activities to support the movement of precious metals across the supply chain.
Provide operational coverage during staff leave and high-volume periods to ensure business continuity.
Process & Systems:
Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Identify operational process or system inefficiencies, risks, and gaps, and recommend practical improvement solutions.
Participate in the implementation, testing, and enhancement of operational systems, including Order Inventory Management and Trading Systems.
Execute operational activities in compliance with business, regulatory, and internal operational standards.
Enforce adherence to operational procedures and internal controls.
Maintain accurate operational records and documentation to support transparency and audit readiness.
Promote collaboration and operational synergies across departments and global offices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by proposing process enhancements and innovative operational solutions.
Carry out work in a gender and diversity-sensitive manner.
Perform other operational responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCES
4-7 years of work experience, in financial operations and settlements, reconciliations, reporting and treasury, ideally within financial services, banking, trading companies or precious metals environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy and compliance.
Exposure to ERP and IT systems would be an advantage.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation.
Agile and flexible mindset, reactive to requests.
Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity.
Competent handling detailed data-sets and proficient with excel
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
