MISSION
The Metal Operations Manager is managing a team of 15 people across several locations (Geneva, Ticino, New York), reporting directly to the COO. His / her mission is to maintain control of diverse precious metals operations across various client streams.
As part of his / her mission, the Metal Operations Manager:
- Oversees the metal operations activity of the company, in particular the operations relating to the receipt of metal for refining and those relating to the trading, production or storage of fine metal products (bullion, minted products, grain, etc) in line with the company’s service commitments to its customers.
- Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing operations and works to improve associated service quality and cost effectiveness
- Serves as Process Owner for Metal Operations processes, coordinating with other departments to design and optimise processes & procedures
- Serves as Product Owner for the company’s Inbound and MIDAS IT platforms, working with other business stakeholders and IT to define a product roadmap, articulate and prioritise requirements, and facility user acceptance testing
- Leads the Metal Operations team, providing mentoring to team members and motivates them to meet or surpass organisational goals
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversees metal operations (deliveries, pricing, invoicing, payments, reconciliation)
Ø Managing and monitoring precious metals deliveries including ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and documentation issued and received.
Ø Monitoring and reconciling client trade accounts, market positions and balances
Ø Ensuring correct invoicing of good and services
Ø Resolution / Escalation of issues
· Ensures good communication with customer service team, relationship managers, production, logistics, treasury, trading, and back office.
· In collaboration with the COO, designs and monitors Operational key performance indicators
· In collaboration with Business Process Analyst, works to define and maintain target process designs for Metal Operations
· In collaboration with IT, defines user requirements and priorities for the development of the company’s Inbound and MIDAS applications and facilitates User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of new releases

· Effectively promote synergies and ensures good coordination and collaboration with other departments
· Make suggestions for improvement; bring innovative ideas and thinking,
· Carry out work in a gender and diversity-sensitive manner,
· Accomplish other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Finance, Commodities, or other relevant field.
10-15 years of work experience, preferably in commodities trading house or financial institution
2-3 years experience in team and project management
· Leadership skills and high drive,
· Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation,
· Agile and flexible mindset, reactive to requests,
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to interact with colleagues of diverse cultures; respect for diversity.
· Proficiency in spoken and written English is required, Italian and / or French desired

Client Operations Team: 15 people+ on multiple locations (Geneva/Ticino/New York/UAE/Hong Kong)
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION / EXPECTED TRAVEL
The position is based in Ticino.
Occasional travel is expected according to the business needs.
