MISSION
Reporting directly to the Global Head of IT Architecture, the Data Lead / Data Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the company’s end-to-end data architecture and data strategy. This role ensures that data platforms, pipelines, and models are scalable, secure, and aligned with business and analytics needs. Acting as the bridge between business, engineering, and analytics, the Data Lead enables reliable, high-quality data products that support decision-making, innovation, and long-term growth.
DATA STRATEGY & ARCHITECTURE
Define and own the enterprise data strategy, data architecture, and target-state roadmap. Translate business and analytical requirements into scalable, resilient, and cost-efficient data solutions.
Legacy Data Warehouse Management (Oracle)
Own and maintain the existing Oracle Data Warehouse, ensuring stability, performance, data quality, and business continuity. Oversee optimization, monitoring, and support of current Oracle-based workloads while minimizing technical debt during the transition phase.
Data Platform & Architecture Design
Design, develop, and maintain modern data platform architecture in Microsoft Azure environments. Define data models (conceptual, logical, and physical), integration patterns, and standards for batch and real-time data processing in a real-time international trading context.
Data Migration & Modernization Roadmap
Define and execute a phased migration strategy to move workloads, data models, and reporting from the Oracle Data Warehouse to the new target data architecture. Assess workload criticality, dependencies, and risks; define migration priorities, timelines, and success metrics to ensure a smooth and low-risk transition.
Data Engineering & Integration
Oversee the design and implementation of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes. Ensure data reliability, performance optimization, and monitoring across data ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
Governance, Security & Quality
Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and metadata management. Define data ownership, access controls, security policies, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), ensuring trusted and compliant data usage across the organization.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with the enterprise architect, business stakeholders, analytics teams, BI, ML, and software engineering to align data architecture with reporting, advanced analytics, and product needs. Act as a technical advisor to senior leadership on data-related initiatives.
Tooling & Technology Evaluation
Drive the selection and evolution of data platforms and tools (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, etc). Evaluate emerging data technologies to improve scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
