MISSION
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex and strategic IT initiatives across the organisation.
The Senior IT Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the IT projects under his/her scope are reliably and efficiently executed on time, within budget, and meet the agreed-upon objectives.
In this role, the Senior IT Project Manager is expected to drive the successful delivery of IT projects following the global governance and project management framework defined by the Head of IT PMO.
The ideal candidate combines deep project management expertise with strong business analysis capabilities, enabling him/her to bridge the gap between business users and the IT delivery teams.
MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Delivery: Lead and deliver large, complex IT projects from initiation through to go-live, on time, within scope and budget. Drive agile, waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate, adapting approach to project context.
Project Governance: Follow and maintain the defined project governance frameworks and processes, including steering committees, RAID logs, project charters, and delivery roadmaps.
Risk and Issue Management: Proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise project delays and disruptions, and actively escalate issues for management attention. Escalated information and mitigation proposals should help management drive decisions.
Budget Management: Manage project budgets and provide financial reporting.
Change Management: As part of the IT project deliveries, oversee the change management process, ensuring that end-users are prepared for new systems, processes, or technologies through training and communication.
Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks and financials to key stakeholders.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Manage cross-functional project teams, including internal IT staff, business stakeholders, and third-party vendors. Work closely with these teams to define project requirements/objectives, coordinate the implementation of the technical and/or functional solutions, facilitate the testing campaign (including Unit testing, Quality Assurance, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing and Training), orchestrate the production delivery and perform a post-project evaluation.
Stakeholders: Build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and representatives.
Business Analysis Expertise: Contribute to capturing business requirements by facilitating the translation of business needs into functional and non-functional specifications for IT delivery teams. Facilitate workshops and working sessions with relevant stakeholders to drive requirements alignment and decision-making.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrable experience in IT project management (7+ years’ experience), with at least 3 years in trading, financial services or similar organisations/industries.
Proven experience managing large-scale, cross-functional IT projects from initiation through delivery.
In-depth understanding of risk management and issue resolution within IT projects.
Strong experience managing project budgets.
Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholders’ management skills, with the ability to lead teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders and business leaders.
Experience in change management and communication strategies to ensure successful project adoption by end-users.
Experience with vendor management and third-party integrations.
Strong business analysis skills.
PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or similar project management certifications.
Proficiency in enterprise project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
Understanding of trade lifecycle: Front office (e.g., deal capture), middle office (e.g., Risk, P&L) and Back office (e.g., Reporting).
Experience in Data Platform or similar projects.
